Client meetings rarely end when the call ends. There’s the CRM to update, the to-do list to rewrite, the proposal to adjust and the follow-up email to draft, and for most teams that adds up to around 3 hours of work per client. On 15 September, AI automation expert Shadan Behzadian showed a live audience how to hand all of it to Claude Cowork with a voice note that lasted under a minute.
From chatting with AI to handing it the work
Most of us use AI like a conversation: we ask, it answers, we copy the result somewhere else. Shadan’s point was that the real shift happens when you stop chatting and start delegating, giving an agent access to your files and tools and letting it carry out a multi-step process on its own.
To make that concrete, she set up a realistic scenario: an events production company that had just met with a corporate client. The meeting notes were messy, the way real notes are, and several key details had changed during the call.
What changed in the meeting
The guest count had jumped from 140 to 200 because partners were now invited. The date was locked for 12 December. The client mentioned a competitor quoting 60 per person against the company’s 100. And there were open questions about allergy requirements and a vegetarian menu for 40 guests.
Shadan recorded a voice note summarising all of this, gave Claude Cowork access to the company’s folder (CRM, task list, venue documents, kitchen notes) and let it run.
What the agent caught on its own
This is the part of the demo that got the room talking. Without being told to look, the agent cross-checked the new guest count against the venue documents and flagged that the Main Hall only holds 180 people. The fix would be combining it with the Mezzanine, but that space was already booked for another client on 12 December. That’s the kind of conflict that usually surfaces a week later, in a panicked email.
From there, the agent updated the CRM with the client’s CFO and his place in the org chart, and produced:
- a commercial proposal suggesting the classic menu at 70 per person instead of the signature menu at 100, to close the gap with the competitor
- a one-page summary written for the client’s CFO
- a follow-up email draft ready to send
- a tasting appointment in the calendar, which the agent moved to two weeks out after finding that the kitchen needs that much notice, and only booked once Shadan approved it
One voice note in, a full client workflow out, with a human still signing off on what matters.
Why it works: context and skills
Shadan closed the demo by explaining the two things that make this repeatable rather than a one-off trick. The first is context: working from shared folders so the agent knows your clients, your constraints and your documents. The second is skills, step-by-step instruction recipes you write once for a workflow you repeat, so next time the agent already knows how you like it done.
The Q&A picked up from there, with attendees asking how to give Cowork access to a folder, where skills are stored, how to connect the apps you already use, and whether Claude can map a skill as a visual flow. When asked how Cowork differs from Claude Code, Shadan put it simply: Claude Code is built for technical work like building applications, while Claude Cowork works with your folders and tools to take care of everyday work.
From watching it to building it yourself
Watching an agent do three hours of work in a few minutes is fun. Building one that does it for your work is the part that changes your week, and the part people notice at review time.
